Early this morning our second grade buddies came to spend some time with us. Second graders read lots of books to their Cardinal buddies and engaged in some morning activities. Soon it was time to put our jackets on and walk over to the Meeting House to have meeting for worship with the rest of our lower school community. Friends walked and chatted on the way over before settling into silence in the Meeting House.
After meeting for worship, our second grade buddies joined us in listening to two stories read aloud and a shared snack of popcorn, veggies straws, pretzels, and sliced apples.
After our tummies were filled, we joined our second grade buddies for choice time in our classroom. It was wonderful to listen to the many conversations that took place. We watched friends help each other problem solving, working together, building stronger friendships, brainstorming, laughing together and having fun. It was such a joy to watch this time spent together unfold into connections and friendship!
