Music Fun

Instead of having music yesterday, we did a switcharoo and had it today. We began with exploration and soon went into Jambo. Today the Cardinals went to the cobbler to mend their shoes. While singing The Cobbler, friends kept the beat on their shoes with their "hammers" (hands). While still seated in circle, we sang Cows, where along with their singing voices, friends used their counting skills and moved different body parts.

After our group circle, Keisha gave the sign to stand and friends stood up in the circle, and carefully moved that circle to the middle of the room. Each friend put out their "nest" and received a bell to take part in Bell Horses. Keisha played the drum while the Cardinals used their jingly bells to sing and perform different actions that were called out (galloping, flying, etc.).

Next up was Ponies, a Cardinal favorite. Friends moved to the tempo as Keisha played the guitar.

We practiced a song that Keisha is teaching us to sing during our Thanksgiving Meeting for Worship. The song is Thanks A Lot. Before singing our goodbye song, the Cardinals shared a song that we have been practicing in the classroom.

Ask your Cardinal if they can sing the Thank you Mothers and Fathers song.

Back in the classroom, friends had a popcorn and apple snack. We had choice time, where the choices were drawing, Legos, magnatiles, trains, dramatic play, and as always books!

On Monday, 11/18, we will be celebrating Amelia's 5th birthday. Amelia's family will be providing a pizza lunch and cupcakes for all of the Cardinals to enjoy. If your child does not wish to eat pizza, please bring in a packed lunch for them. Thank you and enjoy your day off of packing lunch (if you are taking it)!
Have a nice weekend!
