Colores and Candy Canes

This morning in Spanish, Alicia greeted friends and went over our weekly routine. Afterwards, we reviewed the colors in Spanish and played a couple rounds of color bingo. Friends passed the cards and chips and got started. Alicia called out the color and held up the color's card for friends to see if they had a match on their board. Rather than shout "BINGO," Alicia showed friends how to do a silent bingo dance to let friends and teachers know they have bingo.

Ask your Cardinal to show you the silent bingo dance they do in Spanish.

Following bingo, Alicia told friends we were going to play a quick game of Camina, Camina, but do to popular demand and requests by the Cardinals, we played the switching game. Friends love trying to trick Alicia!

Today was Reyn's turn to squeeze la vaca.

On the way back from Spanish, we stopped to look at our identity dolls on display. They are displayed outside the library!

This afternoon, James' mom, Kim, and dad, Greg, came to share their family's holiday tradition. Kim explained that in their family they celebrate Christmas. In James' playroom at home, he and his brother have a Christmas tree that they get to decorate. So today, friends were going to get to make their own decorations. Some of the Cardinals shared the types of decorations they have at home. To make the decorations, friends used pipe cleaners and beads and then bent them into the shape of a candy cane. Some friends chose to make "twisty" ones.

Thank you Kim, Greg and James for sharing your family holiday tradition with us!
