In art class with Amanda, the Cardinals discussed how last week they made collages. Today, Amanda brought out small pieces of black paper and crayons and explained that we would be drawing and coloring. We always begin art class as a group at the big table with an explanation and demonstration of what we will be doing for the day. Friends shared their ideas of what they would like to draw. Amanda first showed us on her piece of paper how to use the crayons to draw and color. Soon after it was the Cardinals' turn to take their spots at the table and start their own drawings. Using their fine motor skills, imagination and creativity, friends exercised their tiny muscles and minds. Some of the things friends chose to draw were monster bears, houses, triangles, rainbow unicorns, flowers, clocks, the sky and more. At the tables, you could hear friends sharing their ideas with one another, talking and laughing, as well as focusing intently on their work.

When friends were finished, Amanda showed us how to put our work away on the drying rack, as to be sure to give it it's on space so no one's gets lost or smudged. If friends finish before our time in art is up, friends are welcome to come back to the big table for free draw.

We came back to our classroom and had morning meeting, followed by a snack of crackers, cheese, and apples. The Cardinals had a short choice time to socialize with their peers before heading outside for some large motor activities. Afterward, we came inside for our library class.  After Library class, we took our books outside to the grassy area outside our classroom. What a busy morning the Cardinals had!

                                   Playing hide and seek

Ask your Cardinal what they liked about their busy day?

                                  Have a beautiful evening!
